The emerging field of nanosatellites presents a unique and valuble oppertunity for partnerships between academia and industry. Such partnerships can lead to advances in research and development capacity, student and young professional development, as well as cultivating markets for related components and services. Small satellites are already the platform of choice for several new venture capital companies targeting markets ranging from satellite imagery, telecommunications, internet access, and Earth Science observations.
As one of the major global centers in the IT and consumer electronics industry with extensive capability in the design and fabrication of mobile electronics, Taiwan provides a wealth of oppertunity for the growing small satellite market, as well as spacecraft developers. The oppertunity to interface with spacecraft developers and data users at the INSPIRE Workshop will be valuble for cultivating new international collaborations and customer relationships, while also providing a better understanding of user needs and industrial capabilities. We welcome participation in this workshop from international and domestic companies. Participation can range from exhibit booths and presentations to potential customers, to technical and financial support.
